Come find us!

Built in 1910, the historic Village Green Building was for many years the only three story building in the county and was known as Brown County's "Skyscraper." Here are some fun facts about this treasured landmark.

01

First Floor icons

After the building was sold in 1967 to the Walter Miller family, they went on to establish a trio of successful businesses: Miller's Ice Cream, The Candy Dish, and The Harvest Preserve. These iconic storefronts are still thriving today and serving patrons daily.

02

Second Floor Gallery

Second Story Studio is the third gallery occupancy of the second floor. Previously occupied by the B3 Gallery for over 7 years and the Ferrer Gallery for more then 17 years. We feel honored to carry on the artistic legacy of our predecessors and this hallowed space.

03

Commitment to the Arts

In 1960 the building was bought by Columbus businessman Kirk Bassett. Bassett told the local newspaper "From the beginning we thought of it as a dignified landmark that would house only studios and small shops, attracting tourists, but more importantly, catering to county interests." That committment is upheld today by reserving the top floor for local artist studio space.

04

110+ Years Old

Built in 1910 in a partnership agreement between the Knights of Pythias and Freemasonry. The two organizations occupied the top floor, while the second floor was rented office space including the town doctors office. The first floor was reserved for merchant space including the Calvin Brothers Hardware store. The words Lodge and Masonry crest can still be seen adorning the building today.
