"My amazing photographer coworker spent countless hours on our lunchbreaks scuttling aroundthe woods, taking bloodroot reference photos with me. The flower petals of the bloodroot area fleeting moment before dropping. The leaves have an alien, otherworldly shape. This paintingwas a surprise Christmas gift to my special nature-loving mother-in-law."
 
About Erin Duff
By day, Erin Duff is a full time medical illustrator, carefully constructing intricate anatomical landscapes for the medical field. By night (or rather, in stolen moments between raising two children) she studies flora, lichen, and other native organisms—gathered from forest explorations—and turns them into vibrant watercolor and oil paintings. Driven by an insatiable creative itch, Duff finds herself in a deep meditative state where she captures every minute microscopic detail in these other worldly works of art, far removed from illustrating aneurysms and ruptured eardrums. Purchasing a print of her exceptional work directly supports this artist's dream of a dedicated studio space. She promises to share with her kids...occasionally.
